The User Experience Researcher will focus on applying various human-computer interaction methodologies to collect and analyze user input for the design and development of OZ's products.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct user research utilizing appropriate methods (e.g. usability studies, user surveys, heuristic evaluations, participatory design sessions, etc.)
- Analyze results and product appropriate reports (e.g. recommendations, design improvements, concept designs, etc.)
- Define actionable plans that improve usability of OZ products
- Collaborate with marketing team to validate target market and user demographics
- Define user group profiles, personas, and analyzing user tasks and workflows
- Establish permanent OZ user group as sounding board and evaluators of new and existing product concepts
- Work closely with designers, product managers, marketing, and engineers, to define and improve the user experience
- Provide input on the budgeting of OZ's user research
- Identify and work with third-party firms as required to carry out mandates
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Science, Anthropology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred
- 5+ years experience in user experience research using a variety of research methods
- Leadership skills in working with customers and internal stakeholders
- Training in designing and conducting user studies
- Experience researching user needs throughout the entire product development cycle
- Experience working within cross-functional teams and various levels of management
- Experience in the domain of mobile applications and devices is a great advantage
- Able to develop creative approaches to researching complex user experience problems
- Must be organized, able to carry out independent work effectively, and able to switch rapidly between different projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills
- Excellent French oral skills are an advantage (for running local user studies)
- Ability to travel as needed (average of 5 trips per year)
