Marketing Manager

The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, energetic and tech savvy. This position reports directly to the Toronto.com Director, Sales and Marketing.

Reporting directly to the toronto.com Director of Sales & Marketing, this person will provide overall marketing communication and analytics support for toronto.com. In addition the individual will design and follow through on local, grass roots marketing programs including; public relation campaigns, summer student programs, industry specific events, direct mail initiatives and more….

Accountabilities

  • Coordinating search engine optimization & search engine marketing for toronto.com
  • Developing and tracking newsletter, guide & email programs
  • Developing and tracking PR & advertising
  • Developing, valuing, coordinating, and measuring sponsorship programs
  • Analyzing and reporting marketing communication program results
  • Supporting product development manager, sales director, and editorial manager in development of toronto.com site and sales initiatives

Key Responsibilities

  • Administers toronto.com marketing budget
  • Develops, delivers, and measures annual marketing communication plan and tactics
  • Leads search engine optimization and search engine marketing improvements for toronto.com
  • Leads coordination, improvement and measurement of newsletter, guide, and e-mail programs
  • Develop strategic & tactical PR campaigns
  • Evaluates, recommends and executes sponsorship programs
  • Leads coordination and analysis of on-site surveys and user research
  • Supports development of sales presentations, support materials, and key messages
  • Provides user perspective and analysis to support toronto.com site development
  • Develops and shares monthly brand tracking document

Desired Knowledge and Experience

  • University or College Degree (Business or Communications preferred)
  • 3-6 years experience in marketing (preferably in SME market)
  • Preferred experience in technology industry
  • Experience in search engine optimization and search engine marketing
  • Experience developing marketing communication programs
  • Experience developing sales messaging, presentations and support materials
  • Experience developing sponsorships and coordinating events
  • Experience in online survey design and research coordination
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of web analytics
  • Understanding of industry trends, online advertising trends and internet best practices
