Background: About CAMH
The Centre of Addiction and Mental Health is Canada’s leading addiction and mental health teaching hospital. CAMH transforms the lives of people affected by addiction and mental illness by applying the latest in scientific advances and integrating compassionate clinical practice, health promotion, public policy, education and research.
CAMH has central facilities located in Toronto, Ontario and 26 community locations throughout the province. CAMH is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and is both a Pan American Health Organization and World Health Organization Collaborating Centre. CAMH was formed in 1998 as a result of the merger of the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry, the Addiction Research Foundation, the Donwood Institute and Queen Street Mental Health Centre.
CAMH’s mission is to improve the lives of those affected by addiction and mental health problems and promote the health of people in Ontario and beyond.
