Qualifications:
The following are preferred or desired unless specifically stated:
- BS/BA or equivalent experience in computer related discipline.
- 3-5 years previous practical experience with web site development, web page and forms development and graphic design for the web.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with HTML, JavaScript, CSS.
- Strong understanding of object oriented design and development including knowledge of Java, JSP, ASP,VB.Net.
- Relational Database Design experience. (DB2, Oracle)
- Able to think strategically and conceptually while managing details.
- Graphic knowledge including skills with PhotoShop, Fireworks, Illustrator.
- Good knowledge of and experience with Windows and Unix required.
- Have strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate with business users on web solutions.

- Sense of urgency and business orientation.
- Must have experience utilizing Vignette software for content management and portal.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsiblities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee all technically related aspects of the design, operation and maintenance of the Safeway Intranet. This includes utilizing a structured methodology for requirement assessment, information architecture and design of the Vignette Portal, Vignette Content Manager, Dialogue, and Application Builder system.
- Gather, analyze and represent all technical interests and concerns of the business, upper management and company goals, relating to technical web management, while coordinating with other departments to develop, implement and maintain the web delivery system and operating procedures.
- Design and maintain site structure and style guides for the Intranet.
- Develop and support java applications for use in Content Management and Workflow.
- Develop and support templates, design pages, graphic designs, and HTML forms to support reusable Intranet objects.
- Work with groups from all areas of the company to collect and document user technical requirements, and design and implement web based business solutions for web related projects.
- Oversee technical aspects of all web surveys to assess the effectiveness of our web communications efforts and assure end users needs are met.
- Interface with end users to construct and carry out testing to validate performance and usability of Intranet functionality.
- Manage technical aspects of web training, site usage reporting and surveying efforts.
- Interact with department management on a regular basis to assess technical web communication needs, support content providers and enforce technical web standards.
- Interact with divisional management either directly or through the divisional web specialists to coordinate technical support of divisional content providers and assure standards adherence.
- Maintain constant communication and coordinate with system vendors during the WCM system set up phase and subsequently, regular communication on an as needed basis.
- External contacts with vendors’ representatives, as needed; to maintain web based applications.
