The Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario is a volunteer led, professionally managed charitable organization with a community focus dealing with all aspects of mental health and mental illness. CMHA, Ontario's mission is to promote the mental health of all individuals and communities throughout Ontario by providing leadership through knowledge enhancement, policy development, advocacy, and the advancement of best practices in service delivery.
Reporting to the Director, Knowledge Centre, this position will be responsible for all technical aspects of developing and maintaining the CMHA Ontario website and affiliated sub-sites, including publishing approved content; information design; developing new functional components; scheduling and project management; site maintenance, link-checking and quality assurance; usability testing; evaluation and reporting; providing support and training to other staff members; and liaising with external developers and clients.
The successful candidate will have relevant education and/or experience in website development and management; advanced technical aptitude and knowledge of Web technologies; knowledge of web marketing; advanced proficiency with HTML, ASP, and VB Script, including style sheets, templates, complex tables, and database programming; experience with graphic design applications such as Photoshop and Illustrator; proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software and train others to use it; knowledge of the not-for-profit sector; ability to communicate effectively; strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills; excellent time-management skills, as well as organizational ability and an aptitude to work with a variety of people; some project management experience; proven ability to work as a team member; ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Experience in QuarkXpress, Flash and rich media authoring software such as Premier, Authorware and Director an asset.
