IT Manager

Environmental Defence seeks a highly committed, strategically-minded IT professional with a
passion for using technology (online tools, Internet etc.) to work for social change. The IT
Manager oversees all of the organization's technology and online requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage day-to-day tasks of Environmental Defence's information technology operations
- Oversee all database, email, Internet, hardware, software, workstation and server requirements
- Design, develop and maintain online databases for web sites and e-newsletters
- Maintain Environmental Defence's existing web sites and build new ones as required
- Provide IT and troubleshooting support as required for staff, office equipment etc.
- Design, develop and maintain online databases for web sites and e-newsletters
- Support annual financial audit process
- Perform regular backups
- Maintain Raiser's Edge database and run reports and queries
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
- Commitment to Environmental Defence's vision and mission
- At least two years experience providing IT expertise in an office environment
- Knowledge of: database administration and development (SQL Server and MySQL), Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Office 2003/2007, LINUX, ASP, PHP, JSP, Java Script, Struts, HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, Postfix, Apache
- Proven ability to link the power of technology with innovative campaigns for social change
- Well-organized and able to juggle multiple projects
- Ability to work in a team environment
Nice to have:
- Experience with Drupal, Joomla or other open source content management systems
- Experience with desktop and online image/video publishing.
- Experience with Raiser's Edge administration

Term: full time, permanent
Compensation: Commensurate with experience; eligible for staff benefits package
