Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the design, development and testing of different distributed systems.
- Redesign existing systems to increase performance and plan deployment to avoid service interruption.
- Develop web applications to monitor and control the different distributed systems.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrated experience in object-oriented architecture and development. Strong design skills are a must!
- Experience working with relational databases, and strong knowledge of SQL.
- Solid understanding of client/server concepts.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and HTTP protocols.
- Experience using both Windows and UNIX operating systems. Should be comfortable with shell scripting.
- Experience programming using Java and/or C++.
- Knowledge of ASP.NET, Perl and PHP are assets.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- 3+ years programming experience in object oriented software development
