Renaissance Learning, Inc., the leading provider of computerized assessment and progress monitoring tools for pre-K–12 schools and districts is looking for an experienced interaction designer to join our User Experience team. Responsibilities
In this position you must be dedicated to making the user experience as easy and intuitive as possible. As an Interaction Designer you will help evangelize a user-centered design process throughout Renaissance Learning. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Create user interface specifications and design documents consisting of wireframes, conceptual models, process flows, navigational maps, mockups, prototypes, and other deliverables to communicate designs and design ideas to product teams
- Work closely with analysts and developers to understand business requirements and users' goals and objectives
- Facilitate multi-disciplinary design meetings
Requirements
- 3 – 10 years in an information design, user interface design, human factors engineering, or information architect position
- Demonstrated expertise in user-centered design techniques and effective application of UI design principles
- Demonstrated experience translating users' needs and technical requirements into interaction design concepts via wireframes and prototypes
- Demonstrated success working with cross-functional, cross-departmental teams to accomplish objectives
- Ability to be self-directed and to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Ability to effectively explain, justify, negotiate, and monitor design solutions
- Demonstrated experience designing for Web, Windows, or Mac OS
- Knowledge in many of the following technologies:
- XHTML, DHTML, CSS, XML, XAML, JavaScript, ASP, AJAX, WPF/E
- Accessibility standards
- Windows or Macintosh User Interface Guidelines
- Experience using many of the following tools:
- Macromedia Dreamweaver, Flash MX
- Adobe Photoshop, ImageReady, Illustrator, GoLive
- Microsoft Visual Studio, SharePoint
- Apple Xcode, Interface Builder
