TERM: Contract Full Time (1-year)
The Web Manager is responsible for the overall strategy and management of CNIB's online brand. This position requires a candidate who can combine strong marketing, communications and business skills with a sound knowledge of technology to create and maintain a site that acts as an effective communication and fundraising tool.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and maintenance of the CNIB website, providing creative direction to meet diverse business objectives and serving as the primary point of contact for user satisfaction
- Manage major web projects, including implementing a content management solution and developing online tools and interactive features
- Lead e-marketing strategies and campaigns to drive online brand awareness, including banner advertising and search engine optimization
- Manage monthly online communications vehicle, including content generation, campaign deployment and reporting
- Conduct online user surveys to enhance site architecture, evaluate usability and set priorities
- Oversee Web Team activities, including day-to-day content updates, technical maintenance and reporting
- Coordinate web advisory group meetings and develop and implement national guidelines, policies, standards and business processes as needed
- Liaise with CNIB departments and divisions to document business requirements and ensure marketing and information needs are addressed
- Support CNIB departments and divisions as subject matter expert for online strategy
- Liaise with external suppliers and advertising, public relations and web development agencies as needed
Qualifications (Education, Training, Experience)
- Bachelors degree or diploma in communications, marketing, journalism, publishing, English or equivalent
- Proven understanding of web design and publishing, product usability, and strategic website planning/management/organization usually gained through a similar role that included five to seven years of web administration, content management and/or web design responsibilities
- Familiar with web usability and accessibility
- Strong project management skills
- Experience implementing large-scale, diverse web projects from conception through completion
- Proven ability to develop productive relationships with diverse groups of content experts and levels of authority using strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate and build consensus through facilitative leadership
- Ability to design and administer e-mail newsletters
- Ability to analyze business implications of application technology in current and future business environments
- Experience in the charitable sector
- Ability to speak French an asset
