Responsibilities
BiblioCommons is looking for a Web Developer to work in close collaboration with the User Experience Lead and a team of back-end Java and Database developers. The Web Developer will be responsible for engineering graphical wire-frames into working HTML/DHTML/Javascript and Ajax (with help from the back-end development team). Attention to user-experience, usability and cross-browser HTML are essential.

The successful candidate is both an exceptional front-end developer and a visionary designer.
Technical Requirements
- 3+ years of professional/full-time development experience
- Mastery of HTML, DHTML, CSS and Javascript. The successful candidate should be comfortable hand-coding HTML documents.
- Ability to effectively implement an HTML User Interface across multiple browsers
- Prior experience with Flash and/or AJAX, an asset
- Thorough understanding of emerging front-end technologies and best practices
Design Requirements
- GUI and layout design experience
- A thorough knowledge of graphics platforms (Photoshop and Illustrator) and their integration into web programming
- Demonstrated skill in graphical user interface design, iconography design, colour usage, typography.etc
- Extensive knowledge of web design patterns / best practices; an avid user of the read/write web: where it's at; where it's going
