We are the co-founders of an exciting new startup that will launch in the first half of 2007. It is an online marketplace for services that can be delivered through video chat, audio chat, and/or IM – like language lessons, legal advice, parental counseling, and tech support. Our role is to bring people together and make it easy for them to buy, sell, and deliver services to each other (think eBay for your expertise).
We’re off to a good start and we have funding to carry us through initial product development. We both come from diverse business backgrounds (marketing, strategy, finance, operations, etc.) but neither of us have the appropriate experience to lead the software development.
That’s where you come in.
We are looking for a smart, passionate, and experienced Lead Product Engineer to define and execute on a technical vision and lead the overall software development of this web application. You will develop the technical roadmap that realizes the product vision and build the engineering and creative teams that will bring this product live to market. You will be responsible for coding and delivering our software (and subsequent iterations) on schedule and with high quality.
Ideally, you will have a proven track record of delivering software intensive projects on time, especially in start-up environment. You will have successfully built and motivated teams and have a passion for managing the development of new web products and services.
We would like to use a lot of AJAX but we don’t have ultra-specific technology or experience requirements because we believe perfect fits don’t come in a pre-defined box and we know smart and hungry people can get down the learning curve quickly if given the chance.
Right now, we’re offering a 3-6 month full time contract with the
ambition for a much longer relationship to develop. There are only two of us so your impact will be immense and immediate. We are
