About Firestoker
The Firestoker Project is a web application project focused on developing a platform to be delivered as a standalone and also as a highly integrated application to small groups as well as enterprise customers.
Firestoker has been designed and deployed as a beta product into several large national and international enterprises and we are now embarking on this project to mature and build the software into a readily deployable and commercializable form.
Summary of Position
The perfect person is very familiar and efficient with a web application framework such as Ruby on Rails, Zend Framework or similar and is ambitious enough follow the entire product lifecycle from redesign based on a set of specifications to the deployment and ongoing upgrading and maintenance of the application.

You will be working as the Lead for Development and Deployment of The Firestoker Project and you are someone who is ready to make hard decisions regarding the technical development roadmap for the web application. Responsible for
Near term responsibilities are focused on analyzing our current code base and future requirements and design milestones.
The current tool, which is deployed with several large corporate clients, is written in PHP4 (PHP5 Compatible).
The qualified person will decide on the future viability of this code base and may choose a different deployment language or platform. Preference for Ruby on Rails, PHP5 or Smalltalk (Seaside Framework).
Responsibilities will include playing a role in hiring additional developers in the near term to assist the Lead in the redevelopment of The Firestoker Project.
You are also ready to learn and lead the design and development of some advanced web tools using standards such as JSON based interactive interfaces and Javascript and XML connected tools to connect the user interface to data sources.
