Position Overview
Reporting to the Manager of the Knowledge Management Office, the Knowledge Analyst (KA) is responsible for the publishing and processing of content that is viewed and accessed internally by Deloitte professionals through the firm's knowledge management system. There are two aspects to this role: web content management and electronic document management. The Knowledge Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all electronically published content meets legal and firm standards.
This position will be located at our 121 King Street West office in downtown Toronto.
Duties of the Knowledge Analyst will include:
- Working with site owners to assist them with the development of their sites using Microsoft Sharepoint and Content Management Server
- Conducting regular quality reviews of web content and documents (both new and existing), including ensuring functionality of links, continued relevancy and editing as required
- Writing summary descriptions of documents and web content
- Using the firm’s taxonomy application guidelines to apply metatags and classify web content and documents
- Ensuring that each site has a French language equivalent, and that content is correctly translated
- Creating contribution and usage statistic reports
- Cleansing and publishing documents to the knowledge management system and community sites
- Updating the Content Management User Guide
- Participating in content and document audits and cleanup
- Providing support to the Knowledge Management Specialists when required
Qualifications
In addition to excellent business writing skills, the ideal candidate will have:
- A college diploma or university degree
- 1-3 years experience working in a business environment
- The ability to understand business terminology and the ability to synthesize and summarize content
- Strong communication skills, including superior written communication skills
- A thorough understanding of content management principles, including:
- Working knowledge of taxonomies and practical experience in applying them (i.e. document classification and tagging)
- A working knowledge of content management policies and procedures including copyright, confidentiality and privacy
- A working knowledge of Internet and application search techniques
- Strong web site layout and usability skills
- Knowledge of HTML and experience with various Web design tools
- Familiarity with Content Management Server and Microsoft Sharepoint portal technologies are a strong asset
- A high proficiency with all Microsoft Office tools
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multitask work assignments
- A strong focus on and attention to detail and quality results
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- A positive attitude and presence and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- A strong customer service focus
- French language reading and comprehension an asset
