This is a contract position with an expected duration of 8 months
This position reports to the Manager, Enterprise Online Communication Strategy and is responsible for managing the production of integrated, effectively designed and measurable e-mail campaigns for RBC businesses. The Manager, E-mail Development ensures: timely delivery of e-mail development while consistently providing the highest level of quality and accuracy; that necessary processes and applications are in place for e-mail production; that e-mail campaigns are executed according to regulatory, industry and RBC standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Manage e-mail creative and campaign production
- Create initial design and code e-mails and associated landing pages
- Program e-mails designed by others
- Manage deployment and testing of e-mail deployments including uploading data into system, liaising with deployment specialist and business stakeholders and working with specialist to address any data or deployment issues
- Coordinate deployment, testing and reporting of emails deployed by 3rd party vendors
- Govern content and production of e-mails, ensuring adherence to brand, privacy and security policies and production and deployment processes
- Regularly review and revise existing e-mail standards/processes and determine new e-mail production standards, processes and procedures as required
- Occasionally design and develop ads for website and coordinate posting of such ads on internal sites
- Perform occasional graphic design and coding work for RBC web properties
- Responsible for coordination of day-to-day details of e-mail campaigns such as call centre notification, translation, stakeholder approvals, etc.
- Support development of enterprise e-mail marketing program including scoping, planning and implementation
- Perform industry research regarding e-mail best practices and standards both from a marketing, technical and privacy perspective
Requirements
- Post-secondary education preferred; A combination of education and experience will be considered
- Minimum 3 years of experience in web design and development, preferably including e-mail marketing
- High level of proficiency in HTML (i.e., Hard coding experience/ability required)
- High level of proficiency in design and use of following software: Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver
- Knowledge of most mainstream e-mail clients and message formats
- Fastidious attention to detail
- Proven ability to prioritize while under pressure
- Strong organization and time management skills
