Softchoice.com has an exciting opportunity for a B2B experienced, Usability Specialist, to plan and execute user strategies and ensure an exceptional user experience for our customers. You'll conduct research, define features and functionality and lead the strategic interface design of www.softchoice.com
Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter team leadership
- Contribute in the development of a successful B2B Web Strategy
- Design e-Commerce features and functionality across audience segments
- Contribute to the evolution of our advertising, e-Marketing and SEO strategies
- Defining the goals, requirements, structure, navigation and functionality of effective and engaging Web experiences
- Author and maintain requirements/specifications documentation including Information Architecture site maps, user profiles, use cases, Wireframes, process flow diagrams, user experience guidelines, etc
- Contribute to sales and marketing, brand, and product strategies (product promotions and campaigns, cross-sell, up-sell)
- Facilitate UAT, usability sessions and focus groups including defining the methodology, authoring screeners, developing scripts, etc.
- Analyze and document and present user metrics and usability test results
- Collaborate with cross functional creative and technical teams to execute projects
Qualifications
- A thorough, up to date knowledge of modern principles, theories and thinking in the fields of User Interface Design and Information Architecture
- Previous experience designing Web based transactional and e-Commerce systems
- Experience managing direct reports
- Skilled at conducting heuristic evaluations and audience segmentation
- Proficient ability to think/communicate at the conceptual as well as the tactical level
- Experience with native Search and SEO including, taxonomy, indexing and relevancy ranking
- Experience designing workflows and templates for Content Management Systems
- Experience managing concurrent projects through a Web development life cycle
- Strong understanding of online marketing and communications
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent technical documentation, writing, verbal, and presentation skills
- A highly motivated individual with excellent attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of client-side technologies including HTML, JavaScript and CSS
- Expert user of MS Word, MS Excel, VISIO and PowerPoint
- Bilingualism would be considered an asset but is not mandatory
Candidates should have 3+ years subject matter experience and should be able to demonstrate expertise through examples of several significant UI design projects.
