Position Title: | Information Architect / Interface Designer (Contract) |
*** This is a contract assignment with an expected duration of 6-months ***
Employing user-centered design principals, best practices and techniques on a project basis, work with project teams to design and deliver high quality client centered, effective, consistent and usable interfaces for enterprise public and secure transactional websites (i.e., for banking, investing and insurance, IVR and ATMs). Key responsibilities include:
- Consider strategic business objectives, user needs and systems constraints in applying client research, design standards and industry best practices to manage and create the design of user interface specifications
- Lead the design review sessions with project teams, acquiring consensus and approval on designs and documentation
- Lead usability testing (i.e., create test strategy/plans, test scenarios, screeners, facilitate usability testing, etc.)
- Work with project managers to ensure usability deliverables accommodate project timelines, budgets, technical and scope constraints
- Work on several projects consecutively, providing regular status reports to manager
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of efficient and effective usability methodology/process, documentation, workflow, ROI, metrics and design standards
- Continuously develop self and the team by staying abreast of industry trends and best practices
- Act as a usability advocate and consultant to project teams, providing expert guidance regarding principles of information architecture and user-centered design
Requirements: - University degree in human factors/usability related discipline is preferred
- Minimum 2 years of related human factors/usability experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the role of information architect / user experience lead / interface design lead
- Experience applying research and analysis to interface design
- Proven understanding of user-centered design techniques and demonstrated ability to incorporate UCD principles into the architecture and design of user interfaces
- Demonstrated ability in gathering and translating requirements from business sponsors, SMEs, users, systems analysts, etc.
- Experience with both large and small scale projects
- Experience applying usability testing techniques and principles
- Expertise creating Visio documents
- Proficiency in creating PowerPoint and HTML prototypes as well as using all other MS Office applications
- Knowledge of web client technologies (browsers, HTML, CSS)
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate ideas effectively
- Ability to provide creative solutions balancing user, business and technical needs
