The Barcamp wiki is moving to pbWiki . pbWiki offers a lot of the features that were missing from the original Barcamp Kwiki install, including:
- RSS alerts
- HTML support
- Built-in search
- File storage capability (10MB for free users and 1000MB for premium users)
- 1-click ability to backup your wiki
- SSL encrypted access
- Pre-made skins for free users and unlimited customization for premium users
pbWiki is a service of Coceve . Coceve was founded by David Weekly who recently spoke at XeroPARC’s Wonderful World of Wikis about pbWiki .
pbWiki looks like it is built in PHP based on the TipiWiki project and run on an open-source infrastructure.
The service is entirely hosted on Open Source infrastructure, including Linux, Apache, and PHP.
I looked at using the ColdFusion-based SeedWiki and the JotSpot wiki to host the TorCamp wiki. Chris Messina convinced me that using the BarCamp wiki was the best idea (and it was).
If you are heading to SXSW be sure to check out BarCampAustin on Saturday, March 11, 2006.
