Branahm300 provides a list of Canadian IT companies, which is great when you’ve decided to look for a job. But there are always a couple of smaller companies that you can find at Toronto Venture Group or in other funding circles. Some of the most interesting companies and products I have found being developed here in Toronto include:
- Cortex Software – retail management software
- Enboard.com – a software to aid companies with employee orientation and retention
- SemaView – developers of semantic web tools and iCalendar-basedEventSherpa
- Groveware – tools include eForma or exForma (they really need consistent product literature) for XML based forms
- Quest Software – J2EE performance and DB tools
- Embracadero Technologies – data lifecycle products including ER/Studio and ChangeManager
- CORE Digital Pictures – headed by William Shatner and doing a new feature film
- TimeTiger – time and project tracking
- Logi Software – Web-based project tracking
- BrightSpark – early stage venture fund
