Chris McEvoy has updated the Userati index to include an article count from HCIBib.
This is extremely cool!
This provides an additional variable to compare the impact of individuals in the usability, human-computer interaction, interaction design, information architecture, etc. It is interesting to see leaders in research publications. Many of these authors wrote the textbooks I used as an undergrad and grad student. Ben Shneiderman and Jakob Nielsen still rank as the top contenders for mindshare. But it adds some increased exposure to some of my favourite authors.
What’s Next?
Great work Chris! I wonder if we could start to build an visualization of the social network of the usability community. Maybe import all of the data and connections into something like the TouchGraph GoogleBrowser to view the topography of the usability community.
