It’s great to see other events pick up a similar format and openness to DemoCamp. Shawn Pucknell has been hosting the FlashinTO for a long time. While it is impressive we’ve hosted 16 DemoCamps, this is the 65th event.
The event with be using Pecha Kucha format to structure their talks and presentations. The Pecha Kucha is 20 slides x 20 seconds / slide giving each presenter a total of 6 minutes and 40 seconds. Pecha Kucha “was conceived in 2003 as a place for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public”. Sound familiar? The first Pecha Kucha in Toronto happened last year during DoorsOpenToronto at The Design Exchange
Maybe the winner of the competition will come present at DemoCampToronto16. I will be arriving in Toronto at 8pm from Calgary, hopefully, I’ll be able to make my way over. You should check it out.
Doors at 7:00pm sharp!
We are kicking off a brand new format for the gatherings for presentations!
This all new format is basically 20 slides, 20 seconds for each slide.
We’re aiming to do 10 of these, with the winner getting a prize pack of books! If you are interested in participating, please email me at [email protected] with your name, email, and the title of your Pecha Kucha. it can be on any topic, not just flash! Anything goes! and i have 2 spots left available.
