Along with Will, Eli, Mark, Tom and others I attended the Wikinomics launch party. It is fantastic to see a bridge being built between the blue suit wearing crowd and the t-shirts and sports coat wearers.
I've heard rumbles of discontent amongst the people who work in these spaces about the author Don Tapscott … without him having any citizenship in the culture
Rumbles of discontent is probably better phrased as drunken rabble rousing. Don Tapscott has a book that has coalesced the power of openness and community into a business worth book. The book is interesting in that it talks about the power of openness, the impact of community and role that democratizing technologies can play in innovation and the creation of new value. Will is correct, Don is a translator, a powerful bridge between the geeks and the suits. He has done a great job at explaining the power of ideas while staying true to the ideas of the community.
