Barcamp Wiki Moves

The Barcamp wiki is moving to pbWiki . pbWiki offers a lot of the features that were missing from the original Barcamp Kwiki install, including:

  • RSS alerts
  • HTML support
  • Built-in search
  • File storage capability (10MB for free users and 1000MB for premium users)
  • 1-click ability to backup your wiki
  • SSL encrypted access
  • Pre-made skins for free users and unlimited customization for premium users

pbWiki is a service of Coceve . Coceve was founded by David Weekly who recently spoke at XeroPARC’s Wonderful World of Wikis about pbWiki .

pbWiki looks like it is built in PHP based on the TipiWiki project and run on an open-source infrastructure.

The service is entirely hosted on Open Source infrastructure, including Linux, Apache, and PHP.

I looked at using the ColdFusion-based SeedWiki and the JotSpot wiki to host the TorCamp wiki. Chris Messina convinced me that using the BarCamp wiki was the best idea (and it was).
