BarCampOttawa – April 2006?

Well it seems that I’ll never learn! Alec Saunders suggested that he’d be interested in doing BarCampOttawa sometime in April 2006. Bloody hell if I didn’t volunteer to help organize it (and it’s not just because I’m interviewing with Iotum on Friday).

I’ve long joked that I should start a conference company. Having been part of the organizing committee for HFES’98 in Chicago, CHI 2000, Toronto Usability Summit in 2003, a small role in CanUX 2005, BarCampToronto 2005 and not BarCampOttawa2006. BarCamp really is a fantastic platform for bring this community together, hence the moniker for TorCamp Community is the framework.

I still need to write up my thoughts about organizing BarCampToronto , but it looks like we are going to do this again. Derek Featherstone , Alec Saunders , Peter Childs and others are already pumping BarCampOttawa . W00t! See you in April.
