A friend of ours worked on his Startup (geckogo) for a very long time
in Montreal and Toronto and it wasn't until they finally went to cali
that things started to take off for them. He says that everything down
there is orders of magnitude bigger, better, and faster.
We are staying in Toronto because our service is locally based (at least
to start) helping people find Toronto's "world-class events and
activities" as you say.
There are a lot of good things going on here in Toronto startup-wise,
but it's nothing like the tales of green grass we hear from our friend
down south.
Do you think its a cultural thing, that Canadians are just more
conservative when it comes to business? What are they doing down there
that we are not doing here? Or, if we shouldn't strive to be silicon
valley, what other ways are there to give flight to successful
business?
