I think the one thing I would add from my own feelings and experience, is that we (gen x’ers) are still under the deluded notion that we can change the world.

Wow, this felt familiar to me, too. My mistrust of corporate institutions has made me admit that I’m more of an entrepreneur than I thought, even though I haven’t got a single good business idea in my Gen X head! I’ve also been terrified of being “boxed in” by specialization, but being a “creative generalist” doesn’t seem to be a fast track to success either.

Wow, this felt familiar to me, too.
