Will there be no demos at Democamp 14?!?

Big ups for another great event! Did the sound system end up getting paid for?

Hi David:

After reading this blog entry, Powerpoint Karaoke link had been interested. So much so that I decided to host a session at BarCamp Montreal2 tomorrow.

I'll let you know of the results.

Thanks for providing the inspiration.

Yes, DemoCampToronto13 was long, but that was just fine with me! It was packed full of goodies, and I can handle a lot of quantity as long as the quality is there.

I think the 5 minute limit really helped to keep presentations focused on what's important. And I really like the questions you've added, such as 'what makes you qualified for us to listen to?'. They may make presenters think twice before signing up, and afterward help them focus on satisfying the audience instead of satisfying their own egos. In Grade 1 Show & Tell, every kid is supposed to present, but at DemoCamp I'd rather limit it to people the audience will appreciate hearing from.

Actually I liked this democamp. It kinda worked out well..

I like your idea of the 'Powerpoint karaoke' too. maybe it a Pecha Kucha format based. I prefer the 20/20 format as it gives strict 6 minutes 40 second for getting your message across.

Whereas a Takahashi method is limited to txt, without time restrictions..
