28 days later and 90 days in the life of…

by david on June 30, 2006

It’s been 28 days since I was released from Toronto General Hospital. And I am happy to be out and about. Thank you to everyone that has dropped me a message, stopped by the house, met me a Le Gourmand, lent me DVDs and help entertain me for the past couple of weeks. I scheduled my follow up appointment with the cardiologist, it’s happening near the end of August.

Proof of life

So I missed DemoCamp6 and I’m actually a little nervous about next week’s DemoCamp7 (Tuesday, July 4, 2006 6:30pm at No Regrets on Mowat Ave.). I missed RailsConf but Pete was kind enough to buy my ticket and head to Chicago with Cloves and Jeff from Visioni.st. I did make it out for Eli’s inaugural CaseCamp and to a couple of other events (ps CaseCamp2.1 is coming July 7, 2006 at the Gardiner Museum, 111 Queen’s Park). DemoCamp7 will be my return to DemoCamp.

Long hours, constant pressure, endless rushing around, poor eating and sleeping habits, the never-ending stress of meeting payroll and finding the next customer – is the perfect breeding ground for a heart attack. – Rick Spence

I’m hoping that Rick’s not 100% correct for a whole bunch of reasons. Sutha started blogging this week in the Globe and Mail. Be sure to check out the pictures, you might see something about some changes that will be official announced in the next couple days.

Dude! Congrats! Maybe you should take up yoga or some other stress relieving technique.

Also, on a hilarious note, your site is a blocked site at my work. I picked up the news via your feed and had to sign off the VPN to post this.

Cheers .. Kate

Hey Man,

Glad to hear you're feeling better had no idea till I read this post. I was wondering what was up as I hadn't seen any posts from you in a while. Definitely make whatever changes you need to make to your life to reduce the chances of this happening again while I haven't been in your shoes I've had close rellys go thru yur situation and that's the main thing I learned from their experiences. Whatever you were doing before got you to the point where you had the incident so you gotta change things up to try and prevent it from happening again. Maybe you just need to blog a little more :-)

Cheers,

Nick
