BarCampTdot – Thank You

by david on May 17, 2006

Thanks for making BarCampTdot a huge success. You’re the reason that we do this. I really want to thank Jay Goldman who stepped up and filled in the instigator role because an unnamed instigator was BarCamping like a pro. Without Jay, BarCampTdot would not have happened. He found the space, organized the day on Saturday, and generally took over the role of herding cats. Jay you are BarCamp!

A big shout out goes to Deb Hartmann for organizing the XP Room, the Fundable sponsorship, and coffee on Sunday. Ryan and Derek at RedFlagDeals.com for helping with the Friday supply run. The WirelessToronto guys, Patrick and Gabe, our wireless was the best I’ve seen. Everyone who came out and cleaned the broken glass and dirt on Friday (Sacha, Bryce, Michael, Patrick, Mike Glenn, and everyone else I’m missing, sorry I killed a few brain cells on Friday night).

I want to thank our BarCampTdot sponsors with out the sponsors we would have struggled more with funding, furniture, facilities, and everything that made BarCamp comfortable.

BarCamp couldn’t have happened without the guys from mesh conference. Michael, Stuart, Rob, Mark and Mathew made it possible to have Tara and Chris. And the team (Boris, Roland and Richard ) from Bryght. They provided moral support, financial support and they continue to support this community by being active citizens. And they made these sacrifices while organizing the best conference (well BarCamp is an unconference officially ;-) I’ve been to, it was a world class event.

Great things are starting to emerge from this community. And it is because of you, everyone who attends and participates. You make BarCamp. You make me want to invest time and effort in to continuing to build this community. You’ve inspired me. And I know that you are inspiring others. Without you all this is not possible.

Thank you!

    david,
thanks for creating a great set-up for mesh i think a lot of people got a real, healthy dose of web 2.0 over a four-day period & excellent stuff all around.

    cheers, mark

David: you, Jay, Tara, Chris, Boris, Roland and Richard are the ones who should be being thanked. We all keep this up, and TDot is destined to be a real bright spot on the tech map.

I'm just happy to be able to help.
